Highway Pursuit is a top-down driving shooter set on a road that never ends. You steer a blue sports car with twin forward guns while hostile drivers close in from every lane. Shoot them down, keep your bullets away from innocent traffic and build up a stock of oil slicks and smoke screens for tight spots. The road bends at random, so no two runs match.
How to Play Highway Pursuit
Press Play and your car rolls forward, settling into a steady cruising speed. You can push the speed up or ease it down, but once you reach cruising pace you never drop below a minimum. Points tick up with distance, and destroying hostile cars adds bigger bonuses.
Red blade cars are worth 200 points and yellow gunner cars are worth 300, and gunners shoot back at you. Hostile cars cruise for a while, then speed up to chase you in bursts. The farther you drive, the more of the traffic turns hostile, and gunners and armored cars show up more often.
Three hostile kills raise your multiplier to x2, and seven raise it to x3. You start with three lives and earn another every 10,000 points, up to five. Crashing into any car except the armored one, or taking an enemy bullet, costs a life. When the last one is gone, the run ends.

Strategy Tips
- Fire in short bursts near traffic. Your guns shoot straight ahead, so a blue sedan drifting into your lane will soak up bullets meant for the car behind it.
- Save oil for chasers. Oil drops right behind your car and lasts eight seconds. It wrecks anything that drives over it, so it works best on cars catching up from behind.
- Use smoke when you are boxed in. Cars caught in the cloud swerve at random and stop chasing you, and gunners firing from inside it miss badly.
- Keep your bumper on armored cars. Each moment of contact adds to the sideways shove, so stay pressed against one until it slides off the road.
- Protect your multiplier. A x3 multiplier triples every kill, so one careless shot into a civilian can cost you far more than the 750 point penalty.
