Speedway Sprint is a pseudo-3D arcade racer viewed from just behind a red open-wheel car. You get one minute on the clock and a looping circuit shared with a dozen slower cars. Hold the gas, read each bend and thread through traffic to cover as much road as you can before time runs out. It comes from Frank Force’s open-source LittleJS Arcade, and every car and tree is drawn in code.
How to Play Speedway Sprint
Press Play on the title screen and your car starts from a standstill. Hold the gas to climb toward the top speed of 230 mph shown in the corner. Your score grows with every stretch of road you cover, so a fast, clean run earns the most points.
The timer starts at one minute and only ticks while your car is moving. When it reaches zero, a Time Up screen shows your final score, and you can start a fresh run right away.
Twelve rival cars circle the track below your top speed. Hitting one from behind costs you close to half your speed and knocks you sideways. Running wide is costly too, since the grass drags you down to a crawl and cuts your point rate. Bends also push your car toward the outside edge, so you have to steer into them early.

Tips for a Bigger Score
- Steer before the bend starts. The car keeps drifting for a moment after you let go, and curves pull you outward, so small early corrections beat late, sharp ones.
- Keep the gas down on the grass. Holding it keeps a slow cruising pace so you can steer back to the asphalt. Letting go there makes you roll to a stop.
- Leave space when you pass. Rival cars sway a little inside their lane, so aim for the wider gap instead of slipping past by inches.
- Make up ground on the long straight. After the S-bends comes the longest straight on the circuit, which is the best place to get back to full speed after a bump.
- Pick one steering method on desktop. Moving the mouse hands steering to the pointer, and pressing an arrow key hands it back to the keyboard.
Features
- Scrolling scenery: the sun and mountains slide across the sky as you take each curve, and trees and signs line the road.
- Four ways to drive: keyboard, mouse, touch screen or a game controller (left stick steers, A or the right trigger accelerates, B brakes).
- On-screen touch pad: an analog stick and two buttons appear on touch devices.
- Pause menu: resume, restart the run or quit to the title at any time.
