Pipe Flapper is a one-button arcade game about keeping a small, round yellow bird in the air. Gravity always pulls it down, and every tap gives it a short hop upward. Pairs of clay-colored pipes slide in from the right, each with one opening, and you have to fit through every gap. The rules never change, so each run is a clean test of rhythm. It comes from Frank Force’s open-source LittleJS Arcade, with all of the art built from simple shapes in code.
How to Play Pipe Flapper
Press Play and the bird waits in place, bobbing gently. Your first flap starts the run. From then on, the bird falls unless you keep flapping, and the screen scrolls at a steady pace.
A new pair of pipes appears about every one and a half seconds. The opening between the top and bottom pipe is always the same size, but its height changes at random. Touch either pipe or drop onto the ground and the run ends with a crash. You earn one point for each pipe pair you clear.
Your score sits in the top left corner, with your best score just below it. After a crash, one more flap clears the board and puts the bird back in its waiting spot.

Tips and Strategies
- Find a steady beat. Since every flap gives the same lift, a regular rhythm keeps the bird level better than bursts of taps.
- Fly low between pipes. A flap shoots the bird up quickly, so sitting in the lower half of a gap leaves room to correct without hitting the top pipe.
- Look one pipe ahead. As soon as you clear a gap, check how high the next opening is and start drifting toward it.
- Use the top edge as a buffer. The ceiling will not end your run, but staying near it makes a low gap hard to reach in time.
- Do not panic after a big drop. One or two well-timed flaps recover more height than a flurry of taps.
Features
- Fair, fixed pacing: pipe speed, spacing and gap size stay the same for the whole run.
- Saved best score: your record is kept in your browser and shown under the current score.
- Changing sky: the backdrop warms from day toward sunset as your score rises.
- Layered scenery: clouds, mountains and grass scroll at different speeds behind the pipes.
