City Shield is a night-sky defense game. Missiles streak down toward six small cities, and you stop them by choosing where your own shots explode. Each blast swells into a glowing ball for a moment, and anything that flies into it is destroyed. Because your shots take time to climb, you have to aim at where a missile will be, not where it is now. The game is part of Frank Force’s open-source LittleJS Arcade.

How to Play City Shield

Press PLAY. Three cannons sit along the ground between the cities, and each one holds 10 shots per wave. Click or tap a spot in the sky, and the closest cannon with ammo fires at it.

The first wave drops 10 missiles, and each later wave adds 3 more and makes them a bit faster. Most of them aim at cities, but some aim at your cannons, and a hit takes that cannon out for the rest of the game. Surviving cannons are reloaded at the start of every wave.

New threats join over time. From wave 2, bombers and satellites cross the sky and drop missiles. From wave 3, some missiles split into two or three. From wave 5, smart bombs slide sideways to dodge your blasts.

A missile is worth 25 points, an aircraft 100 and a smart bomb 125, times the wave multiplier. After each wave, leftover shots and standing cities add bonus points. The game ends when every city is gone.

Tips and Strategies

  • Lead your shots. Click a little below a falling missile so your blast is fully grown when it gets there.
  • Catch groups. One blast can take out several missiles that are close together, which saves ammo for later.
  • Hit splitting missiles high. Stopping one before it splits removes up to three threats with one shot.
  • Guard the middle cannon. Its shots travel the fastest, so losing it makes late waves much harder.
  • Don’t waste the last shots. Each unused shot is worth bonus points at the end of the wave, and an empty cannon can’t help you.
  • Let lost causes go. A missile heading for a city that is already in ruins can’t do more damage there.

Features

  • Three cannons and six cities, with buildings that look different every game.
  • Four kinds of threats: plain missiles, splitting missiles, smart bombs and aircraft.
  • End-of-wave bonus count for spare ammo and surviving cities.
  • Bonus cities every 10,000 points.
  • Saved best score, with your final wave shown on the game over screen.

City Shield Unblocked: FAQ

Which cannon fires when I click in City Shield?

The nearest cannon, measured side to side, that still has shots left. The middle cannon's shots fly faster than the two outer ones, so targets near the center are easier to catch in time.

How does the score multiplier work?

Waves 1 and 2 pay normal points, waves 3 and 4 pay double, and the multiplier keeps rising by one every two waves until it reaches six. It applies to every hit and to the end-of-wave bonus.

Can I get a destroyed city back?

Yes. Every 10,000 points earns a bonus city. If a city is in ruins, it is rebuilt right away. If all six are standing, the bonus is saved and rebuilds the next city that gets hit.

Does City Shield work on a tablet?

Yes. Tap anywhere in the sky to send a shot there, and tap the buttons to use the menus. The playfield is wide, so a phone works best turned sideways.
